Climate Change:
Creating a Shift in Your Church's Culture

2nd Annual Turner AME Church Leadership Conference

October 7, 2017

The focus of our conference this year is on the challenges and rewards of shifting the organizational culture of our churches in order to expand into new areas of ministry. Most ministry leaders tend to focus primarily on implementing a compelling vision, developing a sound strategy, or conceptualizing effective ministry initiatives. Many overlook the enormous impact that church culture and the mindset of the people have on the success or failure of the ministry. Loosely inspired by the work of Dr. Samuel R. Chand, pastor and prominent church consultant, the workshops will focus on how to assess key areas of your ministry and take the necessary steps to reinvigorate your church's organizational culture.

Since arriving at Turner Memorial AME Church as pastor, God has continually given Pastor Kearney the vision and the passion to make Turner the premier leadership training and development site for church leaders in the Maryland-DC-Virginia region. His earnest desire is to build people up for service to the body of Christ and to bring about social justice in our communities by helping them to discover, develop, and effectively operate in their gifts. In October of 2016, Turner took the first step toward fulfilling this vision and launched its first leadership conference in recent years. This gathering brought together an impressive array of church leaders from churches across the region to share, innovate, and inspire one another to higher levels of execution in ministry.

We are moving the vision forward with the 2nd Annual Turner Memorial Leadership Conference which will take place on October 7, 2017. The central objective of this gathering is to continue providing practical and immediately applicable training to pastors, ministers, officers, and ministry leaders, particularly those serving in small to midsize churches. All of our workshop presenters have been selected with intentionality based on their knowledge, experience, and expertise in ministry and other related fields. The wisdom and information shared will motivate and inspire conference participants to reframe their perspectives and broaden their understanding of what is possible in ministry.
